About this service

Downspout Drain Lines done right.

A single downspout can deliver thousands of gallons in a rainy season. When it empties at the foundation, that water soaks into the soil next to your walls, erodes beds and feeds basement leaks.

We connect downspouts to solid, buried pipe that runs to a pop-up emitter, a dry well or a catch basin well away from the house, so the roof stops being the source of your wet yard.

Why it works

What you get.

01

Moves water away

Roof runoff leaves the foundation zone entirely.

02

Hidden and tidy

Buried pipe removes tripping hazards and ugly splash blocks.

03

Protects landscaping

No more washed-out beds under the downspouts.

04

Works with other drains

Lines can join a basin, French drain or dry well.

  3. 3

    Trench and connect

Solid pipe, fittings and cleanouts go in.

  4. 4

    Finish the outlet

A pop-up emitter, basin or dry well completes the line.

Questions

Downspout Drains FAQ.

How far should a downspout discharge from the house?

As far as the lot allows, commonly at least five to ten feet. A buried line can carry water much farther.

Can downspouts drain to the sewer?

No. Roof water should not be connected to the sanitary sewer.

Will the pop-up emitter clog?

It is designed to open under flow. Keep leaves from collecting and flush occasionally.
